Session 1: I'm going on an adventure

Call to Adventure

The characters are in the city of Neverwinter when their dwarf patron and friend, Gundren Rockseeker, hires them to escort a wagon to Phandalin. Gundren has gone ahead with a warrior, Sildar Hallwinter, to attend to business in the town while the characters follow the supplies. The characters will be paid 10 gp each by the owner of Barthen’s Provisions in Phandalin when they deliver the wagon safely to that trading post.

You’ve spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you’ve just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You’ve encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail.



First Encounter: Goblin ambush

First Event: Little after turning onto the triboar trail, you noticed two dead horses a bit ahead of the party. After investigating the horses, Halgrand found an empty map case. After finding the map case, the party is ambushed by a group of goblins.

After defeating the goblins and capturing one alive, he showed you the path back to his hideout and ended up perishing along the way.



First Dungeon: Cragmaw Hidout

At the end of the goblin's path was a cave with a stream coming out of it. Before entering the Cave, it was discovered that some goblins were on lookout duty on the other side of the stream. Luckily they were lazing around and were finished off quickly. After entering, the first thing that the party encounter was an area that contained wolves chained to a stalagmite. Passing them by, a goblin noticed that there were intruders and open the flood gates washing out most of the party.

After fighting their way back into the hideout, the Party encountered the leader of the goblins, A Bugbear named Klarg, who refers to himself in the third person. After defeating Klarg and his wolf, the party was able to secure the stolen supplies and some extra items for themselves. Leaving no stone unturned, the rest of the hideout was explored and ended up finding Sildar Hallwinter, which a goblin was trying to use as a bargaining piece. After negotiations went south, the party defeated the goblins, and Sildar was stabilized.

Session 2: on the hunt for gundren rockseeker. where the bloody hell are you?!

Reaching Phandalin

After saving Sildar, he gave some information that he managed to gather while being captive. Sildar says that he overheard that someone named the Black Spider sent word when Gundren would be brought to him. He informs the party that the goblins were most likely after a map that Gundren had on him that led somewhere in Wave Echo Cave. He also notes that Klarg the Bugbear most likely sent Gundren and the map to the Chief of the Cragmaws at a place called Cragmaw Castle.

Continuing on their original mission to deliver some supplies, the party arrived at the town of Phandelin, and Sildar suggests that everyone should get some lodging at the local inn. While at the inn, the Party managed to pick up on some rumors from the locals and decided to spit up and see if they could find some leads to where Gundren might be. While the others were looking into the rumors, Halgrand went to turn in the supplies to Barthen's Provisions and found out that the supplies found in the cave from before belonged to the Lionshield Coster in town. After returning the stolen goods, Halgrand was rewarded with 50 gp, and unbeknownst to him, Kinny was taking a nap in the wagon and was taken in with the supplies that he just returned.

After everyone returns to the inn and relays all the info they managed to find, Sildar returns and tells the party that the mage he was looking for in town seems to have vanished. He requests if the party manages to find out his whereabouts, then they shall be rewarded

Encounter: Rowdy Ruffians

The Party heads toward the sleeping giant after following a lead and find that there are four ruffians Loitering on the porch of the tap house. After some banter back and forth the party and the ruffians got into a fight which resulting in one death and another's toes being sliced off.

after burying the dead one, the party managed to get some information form one of the ruffians before knocking him back out. infomation gotten was

  • their leader is a human mage named glasstaff

  • not all in the base is human and there is a "eye monster"

  • there is some people that they are holding captive

  • they were hired by the Black Spider but don't know why
